The Insatiable Critic

Filed Under: Workon September 15th, 2010

I sit next to a legend three days a week.

No, it’s not Cher, or Abe Lincoln, or even Wolfgang Puck.

She’s the duly dubbed “Insatiable Critic” aka the woman who made it not only okay to talk about sex and food in the same sentence, but paved the way for me and all other female writers (now basically bloggers) to act coy, elude, and insinuate what we have all known since the dawn of time; the way into a man’s woman’s heart is through her stomach.

Gael Greene served as New York Magazine’s “Insatiable Critic” for over thirty years, she’s also been a critic/judge on Top Chef Masters. She continues to write, volunteer for Citymeals-on-Wheels, and eat her way through New York City. For those unaware foodies, she’s the woman in the hat. I’m sure it’s ringing bells now.

I recently posted a dessert piece from this blog re-edited for her site. Check it out and (hopefully) expect more from me in the future.
